VOUCH VS. CORGI

Vouch is the trusted insurance broker for
high-growth companies.

Vouch is a broker, not a carrier or risk retention group. We negotiate terms and conditions for you with rated carriers. That means we get you the best possible terms and the best price.

Without independent ratings, you risk violating contractual requirements and insurance not being there in the event of a claim.

Get financial security with vetted carriers.

Vouch works with AM Best-rated carriers, which means financials are independently verified. Corgi operates a Risk Retention Group which has not been rated by AM Best and does not have access to state guarantee funds.

Get an advocate that works for you.

Vouch works for you and advocates on your behalf, in the event of a claim.

With Risk Retention Groups, you get an adjuster that is looking out for the bottom line of the carrier.

Get a comprehensive insurance program, in one place.

Vouch handles your entire insurance program (liability, property, cyber, EPL, WC, D&O, E&O, crime, and more) from a single team that specializes in technology risks.

Corgi cannot handle your entire program. Risk Retention Groups are limited to third-party liability risks, only.

Our customers have big insurance requirements. We realized working with Vouch that our prior coverage put us in a very vulnerable position. Vouch gives us the confidence that we’re appropriately covered.

FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long has Vouch been in business?

Vouch was founded in 2018, went through Y Combinator, and has spent the years since building deep expertise in the risks that technology and innovation-driven companies actually face. Today, more than 6,000 companies trust Vouch with their coverage.

Is Vouch more expensive than Corgi?

Pricing depends on your business, risk profile, and coverage needs. Corgi is often priced below other carriers and operates a Risk Retention Group (RRG). This is a regulatory structure designed for a narrow use case, and it is a member-owned pool, not a rated insurance carrier. They're exempt from contributing to state guarantee funds, which can keep premiums low. But it also means you have no access to those funds if the group fails. By law, every RRG policy must carry a disclosure that it isn't regulated the same as a standard policy. Most founders miss that distinction, until it's time to file a claim.

  • Can Corgi cover my whole business?

Unclear. Corgi operates a Risk Retention Group, which is legally limited to third-party liability lines. It can’t cover property, equipment, crime, business interruption, or workers' compensation. If your business needs anything beyond third-party liability coverage, or if you need a full insurance program as you scale, Corgi may not be able to provide it. You'd need to manage a separate brokerage relationship.

  • Will Corgi satisfy my enterprise contract requirements?

Possibly not. Most commercial contracts, enterprise agreements, and commercial leases require coverage from a carrier with an AM Best rating. Corgi underwrites liability coverage through Technology Risk Retention Group, Inc. which is an RRG. It does not have an AM Best rating and may fail to satisfy these requirements. Vouch works with rated carriers and Vouch's licensed insurance advisors can review your contract requirements and confirm compliance before you sign.

  • How long does it take to get coverage with Vouch?

Over 80% of companies get a quote and purchase coverage within one business day through Vouch's digital platform. Timelines may vary by coverage type and complexity.
